The Practice
Maitland Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries is a private practice committed to the wellbeing and provision of superior physiotherapy services to patients.
Headed by principal physiotherapist Alison Strudwick, there is a strong commitment to thorough and timely reporting to referring medical practitioners.
The practice is situated in a health specialists centre at East Maitland in the Lower Hunter Valley of NSW. On a daily basis we are working hand in hand with medical specialists, personal trainers and other health professionals for the benefit of all patients.
Maitland Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries is a division of Hunter Physio and Rehab Pty Ltd. Both are jointly owned by wife and husband team Alison Strudwick and Graham Storer.
Do I need a referral?
Referrals to physiotherapists are not required. Anybody can make an appointment to see a physiotherapist about health matters treated with physiotherapy.
But many of our patients are referrals from doctors. GPs find that particular health matters can be addressed by physiotherapy, and in those cases often refer patients on.
Surgeons also often refer patients to physiotherapists for post-operative rehabilitation.
Whether it be your GP or a medical specialist, referring doctors are kept fully informed of treatment and progress and are consulted on any matters of concern to the patient or physio.
