PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
Alison Strudwick
B.App.Sc (PHTY); Grad. Dip. Sc (Manip PHTY); Rehabilitation Consultant
Alison is a physiotherapist of 22 years experience. She is highly regarded within her profession and has done countless professional development hours throughout her career.
She studied at Sydney University before working in Australian and British hospitals. Since the early 1990s she has focussed on private practice physiotherapy, with a keen interest in sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation physiotherapy.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Sydney University and is an experienced acupuncturist. In 2009 Alison is studying for a Certificate of Pain Management.
Phil Bosson
B. Physiotherapy NclePhil joined the practice in 2011 after working at the highly-regarded Sport & Spine Physiotherapy in Newcastle. After attending school at St Stanislaus College, Bathurst, Phil studied physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle. A graduate (with Distinction) in 2009, Phil was the winner of the Dean's Merit Award in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
Away from work Phil is a keen sportsman active in rugby, cricket, surfing and triathlon. He has played senior rugby for both Maitland and Hamilton in the Newcastle and Hunter competition.
Murray Leyland
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)After 12 months working as a physiotherapist in the public health sector, Murray joined our team in 2011. Murray is a Maitland local and attained his Higher School Certificate at All Saints College, St Mary's campus. He graduated with Honours from the University of Newcastle in 2009.
Murray is a keen sportsman and has participated at a high level in football, including playing in the 2010 Illawarra Premier League grand final. He is a swim coach and enjoys hockey, water polo, cross country, touch football and most recently surfing. Murray has also worked in a voluntary capacity for many sporting teams at local and representative level.
Emma Shinnick
Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Emma joins us on February 20, 2012. Having been an elite dancer, Emma has a particular passion for treating dancers and dance related injuries. She also has a special interest in Pilates for rehabilitation, ACL injury prevention and cervical spine pathology. Emma equally has a special interest in sports physiotherapy and has worked with high-level rugby and football teams in Sydney.
